On November 21st, Amy Swagman will join us to facilitate the creation of birth mandalas. BirthChat is still offered free of charge, but space is limited, so please reserve your spot!
If you’d enjoy a couple of quiet hours to listen and sketch, please join us!
Stephanie Rayburn, Birthing From Within Mentor, will tell the story of La Loba, a metaphor for picking up the pieces of ourselves after being scattered. After the story, participants will have the opportunity to use art as a means of self-discovery.
When: Monday, May 24th 6:30-8:30pm
Where: Lighthouse Chiropractic, 2601 S. Lemay Ave #15 Fort Collins, CO 80525
Who: Mothers and Fathers interested in exploring this theme through art. (Because we want to maintain a clear space for all to create, we ask that children not attend. If you are interested in attending, but are the parent of a newborn, please contact us and we’ll work to create a solution that meets everyone’s needs.)
Cost: $10 per participant. This fee covers all materials and you will leave with your creation.
How: Email Stephanie (email@example.com) to reserve your spot. Space is limited, so RSVP soon!
Baltimore ICAN is looking for art pieces on cesarean birth. See their site for details!
It’s so intriguing to me that the woman who created such powerful images considers herself a ‘cautionary tale’ about cesarean section. A traumatic birth catalyzes us (or not) in many different directions. See a recent interview with the artist on the BirthCut Blog.
We had a wonderful reaction to sharing our birth art at last year’s BOLD event and we still have a few spaces to fill for this year’s art display on September 26th. Whether your piece is complete or in progress, raw or polished, please share! We’ll be displaying artwork in the lobby at Lory Student Center during our vendor fair and throughout the performance of Karen Brody’s play, Birth.
For questions about submitting a piece, contact Stephanie, our art coordinator ASAP at (970)988-6306 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
